Waring decision could come next week

State Sen. Jim Waring (R-Phoenix) confirmed he is "seriously considering" declaring for the 3rd Congressional District race, and acknowledged that it may be a crowded field on the Republican side.

He will likely have a decision by "the beginning of next week," he told PolitickerAZ. He noted he was encouraged by conversations with his precinct committee members and that "people have been cold-calling, asking how they can help out. I have to take that into consideration," he said.

Waring speculated that the field in this potential primary race (that so far has no confirmed candidates and is less than 24 hours old) could initially include six or seven contenders, but claims he isn't daunted by that, due to his "grassroots, knock-on-every-door" ethic.

"The more the better," said Waring.
