Mesa Mayoral candidate Scott Smith is continuing to rack up the endorsements over Rex Griswold. Over the last two weeks Smith has announced endorsements from his former rival and Vice-Mayor Claudia Walters along with newly elected city council members Dennis Kavanaugh, Alex Finter and Dave Richins. Now Smith has added former council candidates Matt Tolman and Mark Yarbrough to his growing stable of supporters.

Contrary to popular belief,
Contrary to popular belief, Mormons don't get together and plot who they are going to elect. If that were the case, Mesa would have seen a Mormon mayor in office sometime in the last 15 years or so. I think she made it pretty clear what her endorsement was based on- Smith's ability to lead more so than Griswold; and the fact that the "outsider" Smith has still served on more inter-governmental committees than Griswold and would represent Mesa better. Smith's resume is deeper than any mayoral candidate Mesa has ever seen. Comparing their plans confirmed for me that Smith is better prepared to lead Mesa.
Maybe Rex is that bad
I don't think it has anything to do with any of the completely lame accusations that you are making. Seriously, if thats the best that you can come up with is that there is some sort of secret mormon connection, shame on you for your bigotry.
Maybe Rex is just that bad. No one and I mean no one is supporting him. If given the choice between Rex and an unknown, people are choosing the unknown in droves.
What does that say about the guy's character? What does that say about the guy's ability to lead? Combined with the fact that he and his cronies are trying to drag religion into this whole thing, I say thanks buy no thanks you mustached mad man.
Go back to serving salads and gladhanding the restaurant patrons.
Endorsements???
Has it ever occured that possibly these endorsements for Smith are linked to the "good old boy network" of Mesa??? Politically Claudia definately lines up more with Rex compared to Smith which was evident at the mayoral debates. It was surprising to see Claudia come out and endorse Smith... I am curious to know if she was pressured by the religious sect of Mesa since Scott is LDS and so is Claudia. Just a thought.
Is Griswold contagious? To
Is Griswold contagious? To not get any endorsements from people he's worked with is just crazy. Especially being that they are turning around and endorsing what Griswold is calling an "unknown".
