A closer look at Arizona’s frugal delegation

As we reported, Arizona is 51st of 51 states (including DC) in pork per capita, a decrease of 31 spots since 2006. Arizona received an average of $14.17 per person with a national average of $33.77.

Arizona will remain low on the “pork spending” list as long as we have our current delegation which included John McCain, Jeff Flake and John Shadegg who are all outspoken opponents for earmarks and “pork spending.” Of course those who do bring home he bacon will tell you most of the spending that is considered pork is considered good investments in their communities.

Here is a closer look at the Arizona Delegation

In the Senate, John McCain was one of 5 Senators to receive $0 in pork spending. Jon Kyl received money for 27 items for a total of $69m which ranked 83 of 100.

In the House both John Shadegg and Jeff Flake were at $0. Top House members were Ed Pastor at $63.2m and Rick REnzi at $52.8m.

Rick Renzi $52.8m
Trent Franks $30.2m
John Shadegg $0
Ed Pastor $63.2m
Harry Mitchell $34.7m
Jeff Flake $0
Raul Grijalva $31.9m
Gabrielle Giffords $25.1m
