Last January this column wrote a piece about an Oro Valley blogger who was being pressured by Oro Valley to register as a political action committee because his blog supported two challengers of incumbent council members. Art Segal received a letter from the Town Clerk and also received a phone call from the town attorney who were pressuring him to register. Segal was determined to exercise his 1st Amendment Rights and kept on blogging. We followed up with Segal today to find out what ever became of the issue and it appears the town came to their senses and backed off. And as a side note, the two challenger candidates Segal and his blog were pushing both defeated their incumbent opponents.
