It must be an election year

One of the hot button issues over the past year has been immigration reform. The issue is divided strongly down party lines with most Republicans wanting to deport all the illegals here immediately and the Democrats wanting to allow non-violent criminal illegals who are here already to be able to apply to stay. Sen. Jon Kyl, the second ranking Republican Senator said today nothing will be done this year. Afterall why would the legislature tackle an issue the voters care about when they could use it for political gain.
