Legislative preview, House districts 11-15

LD11
This is the most likely pickup for the Republicans this year. Democrat Mark DeSimone resigned his seat this summer after his wife accused him of physically abusing her. The district has historically been a Republican district and Republicans will be making a hard push to assure both seats are returned to the caucus. Adam Driggs will be looking to be re-elected while Republican Jon Altmann and Democratic candidate Eric Meyer will be fighting for the other seat. Altmann has picked up wide support from both business and labor and will be tough to beat. 

LD12
Republicans were secure in the fact that both of these seats would remain Republican this summer with the thoughts of incumbent Jerry Weiers and Senator Robert Blendu running for the two house seats. But Republicans Steve Montenegro had something to say about that and upset Blendu in the primary. Democrats are now confident they can pick up one of these seats with their team of Eve Nunez and David Scanlon. Democrats have been slowly but steadily building momentum in LD12 and believe they can target Montenegro and pick up one seat. Look for them to drop a lot of money over the last few weeks.

LD13
Democrats Steve Gallardo and Martha Garcia should easily be returned to their seats. Republican Timothy Schwartz has a tough uphill battle in the Democratic stronghold.

LD14
How much of and advantage do Democrats have in LD14? Chad Campbell and Robert Meza are unchallenged.

LD15
Democrats David Lujan and Krysten Sinema are facing a challenge from Republican Ed Hedges. Lujan and Sinema both should easily retain their seat as Republicans usually do not come within 8,000 of Democrats in LD15.
