Mesa and Tempe elections today

Mesa’s runoff election for Mayor is being held today between businessman Scott Smith and former City Council member Rex Griswold.  Also in Mesa, District 5 will decide between Phil Austin and Dina Higgins for their council seat.  Early voting in Mesa has been through the roof.

In Tempe two at-large City Council seats will be filled when voters decide between current vice-chair Hut Hutson, Julie Jakubek, Joel Navaro and Corey Woods.

“Signs” not good for a Higgins win in Mesa

I have a theory, the first campaign to complain about yard signs loses the election. It never fails. Towards the end of any election cycle things heat up, volunteers and supporters of each campaign tear down the yard signs of the competition. The way to tell who will win is which campaign stays focused and doesn’t complain. Am I saying stealing or destroying signs is ok? No not at all, but it’s going to happen.
