District 1 County Supervisor's Opinion Editorial in the East Valley Tribune on Saturday demonstrates that the County Board of Supervisors continues to deny responsibility for putting Luke Air Force Base at risk of being closed.

Asked in his Arizona Republic candidate questionnaire what the most effective new policy the county had enacted in the past 5 years was, the incumbent County Supervisor in District 1 cited “Managing for Results,” an 8-year-old county policy. "The lack of new ideas at the County Board of Supervisors is why Ed Hermes is running for Supervisor,” said Devin Mauney, campaign manager for the Hermes for Supervisor campaign.

Today Ed Hermes slammed the Board of Supervisors for failing to oversee how county taxpayer dollars are spent on the County Sheriff’s Honduras program. Hermes believes the Supervisors should be demanding answers when a program first reported to cost $34,000 was significantly more expensive, topping at least $285,000, as a KPNX-12 News report revealed today.

CHANDLER -- Ed Hermes, candidate for Maricopa County Supervisor in District 1, released his most recent fundraising report this week. Hermes raised nearly twice as much as his opponent, a 12-year incumbent. Hermes also had four times as many donors, showing strong grassroots support.
