State Commissioner Jeff Hatch- Miller has decided to enter the race for Congressional District 5, with a formal announcement pegged for the end of the month, Hatch-Miller told PolitickerAZ.com Tuesday night.

Bitter Smith waiting for February 5th to decide on District 5 run

Republican Susan Bitter Smith, who ran in the First Congressional District in 2000 and 1994, is considering a run against Democratic U.S. Rep Harry Mitchell in the Fifth District.

Anderson expected to enter race for Congress

Conservative State Rep. Mark Anderson announced last August he was looking at running for the Republican nomination for Congressional District 5 to challenge Freshman Democrat Harry Mitchell. PolitickerAZ.com has learned Anderson could make his announcement official within the next week. Anderson would join former Maricopa County Treasurer David Schweikert, former State Representative Laura Knaperek and former lobbyist Jim Ogsbury.
