On Friday the Navajo Board of Supervisors chose state house candidate Sylvia Tenney Allen to fill the seat left open with the death of LD5 Republican Senator Jake Flake.  But with the time frame to turn in nomination signatures passed, it was up to the local LD5 Republican committee to select who would be on the ballot in November.  Whoever received that honor would effectively become the winner of the November election as there was no Democratic opponent. 

Since announcing he was once again considering an entry into the CD1 race on the Republican side, former State Senate President Ken Bennett has endured a relentless barrage of attacks from Democrats at the state and national levels.
