LD30 candidate forum televised tonight

Republican candidates for the Arizona House of Representatives in District 30 will appear on tonight's edition of KUAT's Arizona Illustrated to participate in a candidate forum. Host Bill Buckmaster will moderate the show.

The forum will be broadcast live from the KUAT studio in Tucson, beginning at 6:30 p.m. All four Republican House candidates - Frank Antenori, Sharon Collins, David Gowan and Doug Sposito - are set to appear. The four are battling it out in the Sept. 2 primary for two spots on the general election ballot.

Citizen LD 30 endorsements

The Tucson Citizen has endorsed Sharon Collins and Doug Sposito in the Republican primary for LD30 House seat.  Collins and Sposito are facing off against Frank Antenori and David Gowan in the September 2nd election.

And the winners so far are...

Arizona Sen. Jim Waring (R-Phoenix) and Democratic LD12 candidate Eve Nunez, who have both turned in the maximum number of signatures allowable to Arizona Secretary of State Jan Brewer. Waring raked in 1,316, maxing out for a Republican in LD7, and Nunez's 1,132 signatures are the most allowed to be recorded for a Democrat in LD12.

Though filing only opened at the beginning of the month, a steady stream of filings have been presented to Brewer's office, and already some races are starting to take shape, in particular the House races for LDs 18 and 30.
