DCCC looking into Clifton Bennett case

As former State Senate President Ken Bennett continues to mull taking a crack at the CD1 race, Democrats continue to show him what he'll be up against if he decides to run.

The latest assault by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee seeks to reopen an old wound - namely the prosecution of Clifton Bennett, Sen. Bennett's son, whose ability to avoid prison on assault charges was seen at the time by some to be the result of his father's influence. The DCCC has put in a Freedom of Information request with the prosecuting authorities to see if there's anything to the suspicion.
