Romney wins Maricopa County Straw Poll

We had heard from sources earlier today that the Maricopa County Republicans held a straw poll, but didn't release results.  Well that appears to be inaccurate. The Sonoran Alliance is reporting Romney wins Maricopa County Straw Poll

The Maricopa County Republican Party met today and elected Tom Husband as the new chairman of the county party. Congratulations Mr. Husband!

The county also gave an indication of who the party faithful is supporting as the Republican nominee. Here are the results out of 721 votes cast:

#1 - Mitt Romney - 188
#2 - Fred Thomson - 121
#3 - Ron Paul - 115
#4 - Duncan Hunter - 93
#5 - John McCain - 80
#6 - Rudy Giuliani - 33
#7 - Mike Huckabee - 32

Most Acceptable:
Fred Thompson - 370
Duncan Hunter - 358
Mitt Romney - 356
Rudy Giuliani - 235
Mike Huckabee - 207
John McCain - 135
Ron Paul - 120

Most Unacceptable:
John McCain - 427
Ron Paul - 396
Rudy Giuliani - 357
Mike Huckabee - 340
Duncan Hunter - 156
Fred Thomson - 152
Mitt Romney - 121
