Renzi: "I will not resign"
By Evan BrownRep. Rick Renzi has just released this statement:
“I will not resign and take on the cloak of guilt because I am innocent. My legal team of Reid Weingarten and Kelly Kramer will handle these legal issues while I continue to serve my constituents.”
Renzi was indicted Friday on 35 counts of extortion, money laundering, wire fraud and conspiracy. Rep. John Boehner (R-OH), House Majority Leader, has urged him to resign, and other Arizona Republicans have contacted him to discuss the possibility of him stepping aside.
