Three candidates are having their nominating petitions challenged; two are incumbent members of the State Legislature who have been challenged by their opponents on the grounds that post office boxes were used as addresses during the collection of signatures for nominating petitions.

John McCain abandoned veterans today when he failed to show up for a vote on the bipartisan 21st Century GI Bill so that he could instead campaign to be their Commander-in-Chief.

PHOENIX — Congressman John Shadegg today voted against the Renewable Energy and Job Creation Act even after he told Arizona's largest newspaper that he would support the solar tax credits within it.

WASHINGTON, DC~ Congressman John Shadegg (R-AZ) released the following statement today on H.R. 6049 – the so-called Renewable Energy and Job Creation Act:

A week ago Sunday, Arpaio appeared on John Hook’s Newsmaker Sunday FOX10 show defending the $43M the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has paid in lawsuits. During that appearance he claimed the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department paid out more than $400M in lawsuits over the past five years.

PHOENIX —In the midst of a declining economy and record high gas prices, Congressman John Shadegg must support on Wednesday a bill that will boost the future of Arizona and the nation, Bob Lord said.

On Wednesday, the House will consider legislation, the Renewable Energy and Job Creation Act (H.R. 6049), to extend and expand tax incentives for renewable energy, retain and create hundreds of thousands of green-collar jobs, spur American innovation and business investment and cut taxes for millions of Americans.  

I'm an American Lawman. That means I am obligated to protect your rights, not use my authority to abuse them. The question today is “What's wrong with the sheriff's office?” There's plenty wrong. Sixteen years of failure have led to more than $43 million of tax payer dollars paid out in lawsuits because of neglect and abuse. Arpaio says that's the cost of doing business. That's no excuse! In my opinion that's bad business and it's unacceptable.

TEMPE, Ariz. – Former Arizona House Majority Leaders Ernie Baird, Lori Daniels and Steve Tully today announced that they have endorsed former legislator Laura Knaperek in the race for the Republican nomination in Arizona’s 5th Congressional District.

The current Sheriff wasn’t doing his job of serving warrants, so the Governor had to step in and do it. That’s a shame because sheriffs have always taken responsibility for serving them. Here’s a little history to back up my claim.
