Even though he is not yet officially a superdelegate, it hasn't prevented AZ AG Terry Goddard from thinking about his choice.
"Obviously I've given it a lot of consideration," he told PolitickerAZ today after the press conference kicking off Victims' Rights Week. However, he said, "I haven't made my decision yet, as I think is appropriate to the position."
Goddard will almost certainly be chosen as a superdelegate during the Arizona Democratic Party's convention on April 26, four days after the hotly contested Pennsylvania primary takes place. Many see Pennsylvania as a decisive vote - a clear win for Hillary Clinton means the race will probably continue, while a victory or narrow loss for Barack Obama will throw Clinton's viability into serious doubt.
Goddard is among those who think it may be decisive.
"I don't quite want to say it's a trial by ordeal," said Goddard. However, he says, Pennsylvania has turned into a "proving ground" for the two candidates.
The outcome in Pennsylvania "will weigh very heavily into my decision," he said.
