Mitchell campaign: Schweikert using vets as 'political punching bags'

U.S. Rep. Harry MitchellThe campaign of U.S. Rep. Harry Mitchell (D-Tempe) accused his 5th Congressional District rival, Republican David Schweikert, of being "unfit to serve in Congress" due to a television ad put out by backers of Schweikert the Mitchell campaign says is disrespectful to soldiers.
Club for Growth, the conservative organization that has committed large amounts to the Schweikert effort through independent expenditures - that is, television advertising - attacking Mitchell, unveiled their latest ad Tuesday, which says Mitchell voted to raise taxes as Tempe mayor, a state senator and in his first term in Congress.
The vote the ad pointed to was to reconcile the House and Senate versions of the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act, a supplemental spending bill for operations in Iraq and Afghanistan that also included the so-called Post-9/11 GI Bill, which Mitchell sponsored. The act was later folded into a larger appropriations bill that was passed by the House and Senate.
Despite the lack of direct involvement by the Schweikert campaign in the ad's production, Seth Scott, Mitchell's campaign manager, lashed out at the challenger.
“David Schweikert’s continued disrespect of our men and women in uniform demonstrates he is unfit to serve in Congress,” said Scott in a press release. “Public office is no place for those who use veterans as a political punching bag.”

Attacking people for supporting vets
Mitchell went to bat for vets with the GI Bill and for that he gets attacked. We have to defend elected officials of either party when the support vets so that they don't get attacked for it.
By the way I am getting the GI bill that just got passed and I want everyone who voted for it to get praised regardless of which party they are with.
You should live by your own
You should live by your own words MITCHELL... Stop using the Vets as a shield for your horrible record of representing the Fifth District.
Arizona has only one Veteran's Champion... Bob Stump. Mitchell, I knew Congressman Bob Stump and you're no Bob Stump.
Any Veteran would tell you that they didn't defend freedom only to have you mortgage it away on wasteful spending and wall street bail outs...
