Mitchell endorses Lord

U.S. Rep. Harry MitchellU.S. Rep. Harry MitchellU.S. Rep. Harry Mitchell (D-Tempe) endorsed 3rd Congressional District candidate Bob Lord in the Democrat's fight to unseat incumbent U.S. Rep. John Shadegg (R-Phoenix).

"We need a comprehensive approach to our energy crisis," Mitchell said in the statement announcing the endorsement. "To do that, we need to elect new leadership in Arizona. Bob Lord will work to end our addiction to oil, and invest in new, clean technologies to grow Arizona’s economy.”

Lord said he was "deeply honored" to have received Mitchell's endorsement.

"It would be an honor to work beside Congressman Mitchell to represent Arizona families," said Lord.

However, for that to happen both Lord and Mitchell will have to win in November. Mitchell, a freshman in Congress, faces his own re-election challenge from former Maricopa County treasurer David Schweikert
