Schweikert ends period with $244K
By Evan Brown, PolitickerAZ.com ReporterThe David Schweikert campaign will report having $244,174 on hand as of Aug. 13, campaign spokesman Michael Juel told PolitickerAZ.com.
The campaign is transmitting its Federal Elections Commission report Thursday, which covers the period from July 1 to Aug. 13. Juel said the campaign will report raising nearly $100,000 over the six week period.
Schweikert's overall fundraising stands at $943,431 over the course of the cycle, which includes $250,000 the candidate lent his campaign. He has so far managed to outraise his opponents substantially, taking in more than three times what Jim Ogsbury raised during the same period.
However, Susan Bitter Smith, another top contender in the 5th Congressional District Republican primary battle, has yet to release her campaign's numbers. Also, Schweikert is spending the money he raises, ending the pre-primary reporting period with less on hand than Ogsbury.

Annie -- please send this note to your sister-in-law. About that "wad" from CFG -- we're not reporting the $100k or so that has been earmarked from CFG correctly. Since we are running a campaign on "reforming Congress" and eliminating "special interests" it will look especially foolish not to list the sources of "special interest" money on the FEC reports as required by law. Or, maybe that was on purpose.... Regardless, it buys a heck of a cup of coffee.

Included in his $244 is $90k that he can't touch unless he wins -- it's for the general only. The remaining $150k he kind of needs to sit tight on -- if he wants to keep his house. Or, maybe he would qualify for the horrible foreclosure bailout program Congress passed....

I realize he has far out raised his opponents (with out of state club for growth money) but I think this just shows his idea of what to do with money... just spend spend spend
With endorsements from the AFL-CIO, tax hikes and his spending habits he should just come out of the closet and admit he is a LIBERAL!!
