So she left Prescott in 1982. There's a blank spot from 1994-1996 where she wasn't showing up geographically anywhere. Then she shows up in Prescott, runs her petitions and registers to vote here June 2008. She does have an impressive resume at first glance but it seems with the exception of her time abroad she hasn't been in one place very long. She has family ties locally, but not much of a recent history of participating in local or state political issues. Her resume suggests that she will be a quick study on our issues if she should win the election. Maybe then she'll sell her house in Fairfax, VA and settle here.

Dr. Livingstone's support seems to keep growing by the day. What is interesting is that Kris Mayes's support represents a middle of the road Republican viewpoint added to Livingstone's considerable (30) other generally consevative Republican endorsements. Almost all of Dr. Livingstone's endorsements come from people who have, or are, serving within Congressional District 1, they are people known by name, character, and record to the voters of the district.

By Contrast, her rival, Sidney Hay (a.k.a. Hoff-Hay)who styles herself as a "Goldwater" conservative not just 'running for Congress but against Congress', has most of her endorsements from Congressmen (outside of CD1), and the State Republican Party (Maricopa County). Her husband has run Rep. Trent Franks office for years. Infact PAC donations for Hay's campaign are revealing, Franks and his re-election committee have donated $2k or more each, Hay has recieved more than $6k from "The U.S. House of Representatives" as declared to the FEC. This, with the application of the Republican party Rule 11 pre-primary (illegally, since Hay is not unopposed, Ref Rule 11(b)!) to cut out all RNC support for her opponents, the state party's denial of the Voter Vault(list of contact details of all registered Republicans) to all candidates but Sidney Hay(illegal), give a clear indication that she is the very epitomy of entrenchment and embodies all the characteristics of a politician that needs to be removed from Washington, and she hasn't even got there yet!!! She has now even gone so far as to send out a letter to all known Republican donors asking for money for her campaign to fight the Dems. in the General election, since (she states)is the only candidate(and also the only one with access to that list)! Why is she asking for funding before the primary? Does she need the money before the primary because she has already spent everything she had, fighting the growing threat she feels from Dr. Livingstone's campaign? Does she fear that the voters in Yavapai County may conclude that Livingstone and not Hay will have by far the broader appeal to Republicans? At the general election only Livingstone, having suffered at the hands of the State party can honestly say that she understands first hand why so many previously registered Republicans are now registered Independants in disgust with the party. Livingstone could be expected to receive many of their votes, Hay not one! Add to that the fact that Livingstone has the uncanny ability to put her acknowlegedly extraordinary intellectual abilities to work in the very natural and genuine way she presents her comprehensive solutions to the many issues being discussed at the AZ CD1 forums (without the reference to any notes at any time) and it is not so far fetched to imagine that may Democrats may come to respect her, even if they don't naturally approach the issues from her starting point. Livingstone has shown that she lives up to her name with a rock-like performance that has put life back into the Republican primary race in AZ CD1. If Hay new enough to check the walls of Prescott High School she would find that Livingstone, under her maiden name, is listed in their athletic hall of fame. Amongst many of her varied sporting accomplishments she was also the US Junior Olympic Champion in High Jump, with a winning hight that could have taken her to gold in several succesive Olympic Games. She is quite the competitor, and the home grown champion Yavapai County (and the rest of CD1)can take to heart.

This is just a first glance, but scratch the surface and ask some questions of all those people who formed exploratory committees to run for CD1, and you will discover that each one (there were at least 8 people who the Republican party tried to recruit)has an unbelievable tale to tell of the many misfortunes that were "arranged" for them that proved overwhelming enough to disuade them from running. But that is another story, worthy of some real investigative jornalism, to pull out all the facts. As is the connection between the Hay's and Trent Franks. Trent Franks was very closely tied to (indited) Tom Delay and received at least 5 political donations from the PAC's of lobbyist (& felon) Jack Abramoff, who's lobbyist associate Ralf Reed, was closely associated with Pat Robertson's Presidential Campaign. Sidney Hay ran Pat Robertson's campaign in Arizona. The connections don't stop there....
