Official tally for Schweikert
By Evan Brown, PolitickerAZ.com ReporterFormer Maricopa County Treasurer and State House Majority Leader David Schweikert has released his official tally for the quarter, putting him well ahead of his competition.
Schweikert's official take is $175,360. To date he has raised $681,353 and has $514,092 on hand.
In response to allegations from some that Schweikert took out a second mortgage on his home and added in-kind donations to beef up his totals, Michael Juel, Schweikert's finance director, said via email:
"I can assure you that David did not take out second mortgage, and that in-kinds do not make up a sizable portion of the money raised... To put it in perspective, Schweikert outraised all of his opponents combined in COLD HARD CASH."
Juel said that only $1,100 is derived of in-kinds.
